I always thought ignorance is bliss, but not always so.
I have chosen to ignore your first message but i guess you couldn't take a hint, could you?

Sigh, champagnepout, I thought you would know better, especially a well-travelled and cultured lady who claims to love the arts. You aren’t supposed to take pictures of the paintings in the Louvre, are you? Did the museum guard tick you off with a stern warning? Tsk tsk.

I don't know what you're trying to get at.

First of all, I don't pretend to be anything, least of all an environmentalist, & i don't see how shopping in Milan or Paris is relevant to my post.
So just because i respect those who really make a difference & i want to start doing something, I should quit my job & go on expeditions to Greenland?

I started turning off the tap while brushing my teeth & i think that's a more concrete way to help the environment.

Second, I did not claim to love art but i appreciate seeing on my travels, what was only previously available to me in books & posters. Isn't that the whole point of travelling??

To me, Asterix comics are the highest form of art, my most preferred one actually.

Unfortunately for your ignorance, I did know better, because i was actually at the Musee d'Orsay where photo-taking without flash is allowed, for most of the permanent collections.

As for the Louvre, (which is a completely different museum, did you not know that?) well i remember taking a photo of people taking photos! How's that?

So i hope you have no more queries about me then.
I have wasted enough time replying you.... i could have read another episode of Asterix.

Oh yes, I forgot.
Museum guards don't normally tick me off, they usually just chat me up. :)

I've taken photos at the Louvre before. Nobody has ever had an issue with it.

I think he/she is trying to paint you as a superficial shopaholic, but as most of us know that what we write on xanga doesn't necessarily reflect everything we think or do in real life. Roro is just judgemental, I wouldn't bother responding to those comments in future - it's like whatever, probably just jealous!

p.s. no one is meant to take photos of the sistine chapel either but why is it you can take photos of the beautiful hallway covered in artwork that leads to it? Just a marketing tool sometimes to sell their images and postcards sometimes. :)

Hi Jasmine,

Thought I should step in and comment on this. I think it's really amazing how you've handled "roro" with grace. Any other human being will have written an angry response to it, and contemplate not writing anymore. But you're a strong gal and we see it in all your sharings: mature, thought-provoking, humane. Who says all your posts are about shopping and eating?

Indeed, jealous people have no depth and certainly only look at flaws.

Do continue to write. You take great photos too.

There will always be detractors who judge in life. One can never please everyone. The best thing to do is to not let them get to you since their lives are completely void and they have nothing better to do than stir up trouble.

So don't let a few negative comments affect your blog. After all, it is.. YOUR blog
